About Casey Family Programs

Established in 1966 by United Parcel Service founder Jim Casey, Casey Family Programs is the nation’s largest private foundation entirely focused on foster care and improving the child welfare system.

We carry out our mission in several ways:

  • We provide high quality foster care and other direct services to improve the lives of children and families across the country.
  • We provide strategic consulting services to help public child welfare agencies, as well as American Indian and Alaska Native tribes, improve their services.
  • We educate state and federal lawmakers on the need for public policy changes that will help child welfare systems provide effective services for children and families.
  • We provide nonpartisan research so that child welfare professionals and lawmakers can make informed decisions based on data and evidence.
